What guests say about our Kings Beach homes
Rated 4.87 out of 5 by 467 guests who stayed. The newest review of each home, word for word. All reviews
“Very interesting bnb. The exterior was nice but the interior was dated. There was a musty smell when you first arrive due the old carpets. The kitchen was stocked well with cooking equipment, plates, and cups. The neighbor across the street was watching us here and there. They asked us a few times if we were planning to leave our truck parked a certain way when we were unloading and loading up. Overall, it’s a good location. Kings beach was kinda walking distance which was surprising! I would stay here again.”
“What a wonderful place to sneak away and enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe! Excellent location, very comfortable place with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking in a breeze. We will definitely be back!”
“This place is AMAZING!!! We stayed here for a girls weekend and it was perfect. Very very quiet and relaxing neighborhood. Absolutely gorgeous and charming house. TONS of space, we felt right at home! And it’s 5 minutes from the beach and restaurants!”
“Great location. Great views. Very comfortable. Easy to work with. Very accommodating. Let us check in an hour early which was nice. Would definitely return.”
“Mg is a great host, very responsive and helpful. We booked last minute and there was no issues. Very well stocked Airbnb. We were family with toddler and infant and it was very pleasant stay. Take bear country headsup seriously! We were pleasantly surprised with bear sightings two days in a row!”
“Well maintained place, great location, walking distance to King’s beach. Very responsive hot. The neighborhood was a bit run down though, the first night there was constant yelling and fighting noises from the next house, which was quite scary.”

Where to stay in Kings Beach
Kings Beach is the most walkable town on the North Shore. Its center runs along CA-28 (North Lake Boulevard) beside Kings Beach State Recreation Area, and a grid of residential streets climbs the hill behind it, so many homes are a walk or a short bike ride from the sand and the restaurants. The east end, toward Brockway and the state line, is quieter and closest to Crystal Bay and Incline Village. Homes higher up toward CA-267 trade the walk for more trees and space.

The beach
Kings Beach State Recreation Area is a long, sandy public beach in the middle of town, with restrooms, picnic tables, a playground, a boat ramp and paid state parking. Dogs aren't allowed on the sand. At the east end, Speedboat Beach is smaller and rockier, with very little parking. Lake Tahoe beaches compares the rest.

Getting here and getting around
CA-267 is the road in from Truckee and I-80. It crosses Brockway Summit at about 7,200 feet, and chain controls are common in storms. From town, CA-28 runs east to Crystal Bay and Incline Village and west to Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay and Tahoe City. Northstar is up CA-267 toward Truckee; Palisades Tahoe is reached through Tahoe City.

Good to know before you go
- Kings Beach State Recreation Area is a wide public beach with its own parking lot.
- Northstar and Palisades are both reachable for day trips on the California side.
- CA-28 runs straight through town, so getting anywhere on the North Shore is simple.
